Dear Carolyn, That is such a WONDERFUL poem – one of my favorites 🙂 So glad you posted it at a time when I am retiring and especially need to reconnect with just BEing!

Thanks, Carolyn… So many memories that nourish to this day. Do keep your “mischievousness” always.

    Fondly,

    Kathryn

A truly WONDERFUL poem and the these of BEing is so apt for me as I start my retirement after working for 50 years (only part-time as a teenager).

The word “these” should be corrected to “theme”

I love this convent poem! As I begin the phase of my life known as “retirement,” the poem reminds me of the essential importance of just BEing.”

QUOTING RON HANSEN

"Carolyn Grassi's 'Heart and Soul' is fascinating in its fluent and affecting blend of memoir and poetry, reminiscence and sheer invention, loss, grief and homage. Adopting a persona at times, or imitating a seminal influence on her writing at other junctures, [Carolyn Grassi] has created a quilt of memories and reflections on a life's education—the journey we all hope to make from becoming to being, or from acting as disciples to representing ourselves and our art as apostles..."
